Dubuque Weekly Times, September 5, 1861.

J. E. Ainsworth of Manchester, Delaware county, at the earnest solicitations of his friends has consented to raise a company of infantry to go into camp at Dubuque. Mr. Ainsworth has been long and favorably known as the Chief Engineer of the Dubuque and Sioux City Railroad; and in addition to being an excellent Civil Engineer he has the additional advantage of being educated in Norwich, Vermont, at the military school there. Doubtless he will make one of the most efficient and trustworthy captains in the service, and the effectiveness of a corps of men depends much on their confidence in their commanding officer. We hope to see Mr. Ainsworth in here before the middle of September with a company of the brave men that will make Iowa proud. Will they respond to their country's call? YES!
