William Edward Pelsor, son of George W. Pelser and Alice Warner Pelsor, was born May 16, 1882, in Ellsworth County, Kansas, and died at Westview Acres in Leon May 21, 1980, aged 98 years and 5 days.
His parents moved to Decatur County in 1886 where he resided most of his life. During the gold rush, he went to Alaska and also worked as a lumber jack in Washington State for a time.
William married Cecile Irving March 15, 1922, and they farmed in Decatur County. Two children were born to this union: Max, now of Conway, NH, and Merlin at home.
Preceding him in death were parents; brother, Frank; and sister, Carrie Ramsey.
Survivors include widow, two sons, daughter-in-law, Mary; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
