William Norman Stanley was born March 4, 1892, at Andover, Mo., in Harrison county, the son of Simeon and Jemima Poush Stanley.

He passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 1963, in the Decatur county hospital, at the age of 70 years, 11 months, and 17 days. He spent his earlier life in Harrison county, Mo., and the remainder of his life in Ringgold and Decatur counties, Iowa.

He was united in marriage March 4, 1917, to Winnie Laird, and to this union were born two children, a son who died in infancy, and one daughter, Wanda Stanley Gannan of Gilman City, Mo.

He was preceded In death by his parents and companion, Winnie Stanley, who passed away Oct. 17, 1932, and a brother, Denny, who passed away at the age of I8 months.

He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He worked for the C.B.&Q. railroad for 33 years as a section hand, retiring five years ago.

Surviving him are his daughter, Wanda Garman of Gilman City, Mo.; two brothers, Frank of San Leandro, Calif., and Lee of Lamoni; two grandchildren, Norma Lou and Hobby Gannan of Gilman City; an aunt, Mrs. Nelle Hutton of Blythedale. Mo.; six nieces and two nephews and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 25, at the Stewart Funeral home at Lamoni. Funeral services were conducted by Clarence Heide with Joe Hoffman officiating. Burial was In Rose Hill cemetery.
