Charles Thomas Stevenson, son of Ralph William and Elizabeth Ann (Rollett) Stevenson, was born January 26, 1891, Adrian, Illinois, and passed away on February 9, 1986, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa, at the age of 95 years and two weeks.

Charlie grew up in the Adrian area. He joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1910 and was ordained a priest in 1922.

Charlie was married to Glenwere Tot Lambert at the home of her parents near Ferris, Illinois, on January 19, 1913. To this union were born three sons, Duane and Leo of Lamoni and Gomer, who died in infancy.

Charlie and Tot lived and farmed in the Adrian and Nauvoo vicinity all of their married life until 1952 when they moved to a farm near Lamoni. They continued to farm there until 1957, when they retired and moved into Lamoni.

Tot preceded him in death in September of 1984. Also preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include his sister, Flossie Brown of Augusta, Illinois, his son, Duane and wife Arthea of Lamoni, his son Leo and wife Lois, also of Lamoni, 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 12 at 1:30 p.m., at the RLDS Church in Lamoni with Elbert Thomas and Roy Shields, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
