Mrs. Rollo Edmunds
Mary Gega Edmunds, daughter of Macar and Aratiana[sic] Gega, was born July 13, 1911, at Hilo, Hawaii, and departed this life at her home in Lamoni on May 7, 1966.

She received her education in the American schools of Hawaii.

On May 7, 1932, she was united in marriage to Sergeant Rollo W. Edmunds who was serving in the United States Army at that time. To this union were born six children, Wilburt, serving in the U. S. Air Force, now stationed in Japan; Robert Earl who died in infancy; Barbara, now Mrs. Roger Belli of Chicago, Ill.; Herman of Palm Springs, Calif., Charles, now serving in the U.S. Air Force at Abilene, Texas, and Olga, now Mrs. John Cornelison, of Des Moines.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her passing, four grandchildren: Keith, Kevin and Kim Marie Belli, and Randy Edmunds; two sons-in-law Roger Belli of Chicago, Ill., and John Cornelison of Des Moines; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy of Japan; three sisters and five brothers living in Hawaii and California; also nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In July 1949, Mary and Rollo moved with their family to Lamoni and lived here for about one year. They then moved to Unionville, Mo., where they operated a florist shop for the following four years. In 1954 they returned to Lamoni where she resided until the time of her passing which occurred on their 34th wedding anniversary.

Mary was a fine cook and excelled in the baking of pastries which she shared freely with many of our community. Her happiest hours were those spent caring for her home and family, yet she found time to care for several in the community in their times of illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at Stewart's Funeral home. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
