Fern Eleanor Silver, daughter of Clarence and Netti Conner DeSart, was born January 8, 1896 at Estherville, Iowa and died at her home in Lamoni April 25, 1974 at the age of 78 years.

She was married to Howard Maxwell Silver, February 4, 1918 and to this union three sons were born: Donald Wayne, Max Eldon, and Lyle Royce.

Fern and Howard owned and operated a restaurant in Lamoni for 11 years. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, the Social Service Center volunteer work and a member of the Lamoni RLDS Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are her husband, Howard, Lamoni; three sons, Donald and wife Vivian of Boone, Max and Lyle of Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Paist of Lamoni; other relatives and friends.

Services were held April 25 at the Lamoni RLDS Church in charge of Slade & Soll Funeral Home with Elders Vern Deskin and Willard Moon, officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
