John Porter Robbins was born in Athens county, Ohio, Sept. 18, 1834, and died after a brief illness at the home of his daughter in Bethany, Mo., Dec. 7, 1913, aged 79 years, 2 months and 19 days. In 1860 he was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Davis, and to this union were born eleven children, six daughters and five sons. His wife and four children have preceded him to the other shore. To mourn his loss he leaves five brothers and three sister, four sons, Dolph and Isaac of Davis City and Lewis and Lon, of Bethany, three daughters, Mrs. John Wilson of Akron, Mo., Mrs. Isaac Morris, of Bethany and Mrs. Emory Thompson, of Davis City, besides a host of friends. The deceased was brought to Davis City and funeral services held at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Place. Interment was made in the old cemetery.
