MRS. JAMES NELSON
Carrie Relinda Hanson, daughter of Nellie Quam and Peter Hanson was born at Ottawa, Ill., April 4, 1858, and departed this life at her home in Lamoni, February 3, 1943, at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 1 day.

She was united in marriage to James Nelson, August 12, 1873, in Norway, Iowa. To this union six children were born, only one survived, John Nelson, St. Joseph, Mo.

She was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ at an early age and was an active member until late years.

Mrs. Nelson was a devoted mother and always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing the son, one brother, John Hanson, Rosati, Mo., and five grandchildren, Charles James Nelson, Mrs. Ruth Berg, Mrs. Olena Cooper, all of St. Joseph, Mo.; John Burton Nelson in army ground forces in New Mexico; Roy Raymond Nelson, army ground forces at Coffeyville, Kan.; and four great-grandchildren.
