Mrs. Fanny Laney passed away at 10:30 o'clock Monday evening. She had been a patient sufferer for many months and her death was not unexpected, but nevertheless it is a severe blow to her one and only daughter and child, who is prostrated with grief. The sympathy of all goes out to her in her hour of bereavement. Mrs. Laney was the widow of the late Dr. J. W. Laney, who together with his wife were among the early pioneers of Decatur county, and were among our most worthy citizens, and scores of old friends will hear with deep regret that she too has passed to the great beyond. She was a good woman and has gone to her reward.
