ELIZABETH GAMMILL, daughter of JAMES and ANNE GAMMILL, was born April 26, l845, at New Lisbon, Ohio. She moved with her parents to Jefferson County, Iowa, in l850, and to Decatur County in l853, growing to womanhood at Spring Valley.

She was married to AARON COZAD in March, l87l. To this union was born one daughter, HATTIE A. COZAD, of Des Moines, Iowa.

The deceased also has four brothers and one sister who survive her: J.M., of Stockville, Nebraska; SAMUEL F., of Dickens, Neb.; M.E., of Harrisburg, Colorado; M.A., and MISS ALICE GAMMILL, of Leon, Iowa.

In early life she united with the Christian Church. For the last twenty years she has been in poor health and died at Clarinda, Iowa, on January l3, l9l7.

Funeral services were conducted from the home of MISS ALICE GAMMILL, Tuesday, January l6th, at l0:30 o'clock by Henry Esch, Pstor of the Christian Church, Leon. Interment was in the Spring Valley Cemetery.
