Thursday, January l6, l9l9MRS. WILLIAM H. JENKINS died at her home in Leon, Iowa, January l9, l9l9, aged 74 years, 9 months and 22 days. SUSAN CATHERINE, daughter of SIMPSON and LAVINA SILL was born March l8, l844 near Greencastle, Indiana. She united with the Baptist Church at Grant City, Mo., in l867 and later transferred her membership to the Leon Baptist Church, remaining a true Christian till the end.
She was united in marriage to W.H. JENKINS at Leon, Iowa, February 7, l86l. To them were born eight children, four sons and four daughters. One son and two daughters have preceded her to the Great Beyond. She leaves to mourn her death, a loving husband, three sons, two daughters, seventeen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters, besides a host of friends. She was a true wife, a loyal mother and a good neighbor.
Funeral services of utmost brevity and simplicity were conducted from the home by Rev. G.T. Ronk, Pastor of the Leon Brethren Church. Interment in Leon Cemetery.
