Dean D. Lovell, 95, died February 13, 2009, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon.

Dean was born September 3, 1913, to Alma and Grace Slauter Lovell. Dean married Leora Pahre in December 1941. His wife Leora passed away in 1961. In October 1969, he married Mary Jane Turck Perkins.

He is survived by his wife Mary; sisters, Carol McGuire, Lamoni, IA, Lorene Waugh of Norwalk, IA; daughters, Janice Runge, Thayer, MO, Dee Ann Green, Des Moines, IA; step-children Butch Perkins, Lamoni, IA, Patricia Garelick of Ft. Myers, FL, Barb Onyett, Leon, IA, Tom Perkins, Lamoni, IA, Clarke Perkins, Lamoni, IA; 19 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Leora; son, Dennis; a sister, Bernice Kopp; and a brother, Morris.

The body was cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family at 26463 US Hwy 69, Leon, IA 50144.
