BROWN, SHEPHERD, BRAMMER, DOBSON, TROWER

Robert G. Brown, son of John and Susan Brown, was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, Oct. 14, 1860, and departed this life Aug 6, 1932, at the Clarinda Hospital at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 22 days.

He was the youngest of six brothers and four sisters. He came to Iowa when he was about two years of age.

He was married to Jewett Shepherd in 1879. To this union were born two children, one dying in infancy, the other, Mrs. Mabel Brammer of Grand River. His wife passed away in 1881. Then on Sept. 16, 1883, he was married to Catherine Dobson. To this union were born four children, Franklin, who died at the age of two years, Mary Trower of Ellston, Samuel Brown and Virgil Brown, also of Ellston.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, four children, ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and a great host of friends.

Early in life he was converted and united with the United Brethren church, continuing faithful unto God most of his remaining days, leaving evidence of his faith in God at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held on Aug. 8, 1932, at the Grand River Baptist church by Rev. James Wilkins, pastor of Grand River M.E. church, after which interment was made at the Oak Hill cemetery.
