MARTHA ANN HALL was born near Bucyres, Ohio,
October 7, l838. She was
the oldest daughter of LENHART and ELIZABETH
(CLARK) WALTON. When about
fourteen years of age she came to Leon with
her parents. On December
l4, l854 she was united in marriage to
BENJAMIN HALL. Three children
were born and survive her with the one
sister, five grandchildren and
five great grandchildren.

She, with her husband, came to Clarke County
and settled on the present
home in l86l where she has always lived. MR.
HALL died July 22, l900.
She united with the Christian Church at Van
Wert when Josephus Porter
was Minister. Later her membership was
transferred to Weldon. While
unable to get out to church for nearly a
year, she still felt an
interest in the welfare of the church. She
died Tuesday morning,
September l2, l9l7. After failing health of
six months, she took to her
bed for eight weeks. A nurse was in
attendance and all that loving
hands could do was done. But she passed on a
little after two o'clock,
September l2, l9l7.
