Richard F. Foland (76) passed away October 21, 2004, as a result of a auto accident.

He was born January 1, 1928 to parents Eldon "Johnny" Foland and Ruby Baker Foland at Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Shortly thereafter, they returned to farming in Iowa. He attended rural grade school and graduated from high school at Grand River, Iowa. It was there he met and later married Marjorie (Catuska) Foland. They farmed a few years and then located in Lincoln, Nebraska where he learned the machining trade. A son, Gale (1952) and daughter, Bonnie (1955) arried before the next move to Scottsdale, Arizona (1956). Richard was employed at then, AiResearch & Sperry (both now Honeywell). During 1972 he and his family left Scottsdale for the rural area of Gilbert. He later worked at Motorola and D'Velco; then later had his own machine shop and horse boarding business. His employment and moves brought him into contact with many people. He loved to visit and took great pleasure in helping a friend or neighbor. His passions included hunting, fishing, farming & giavisng freely of his time in his community.

He will be greatly missed by many friends, wife Marge, son, Gale, daughter Bonnie, grandchildren Jennifer, Weston, Kayla, nieces & nephews, JoAnn and Adolfs Rekte/Don & Diane Burns.

Funeral servies will be held at Green Acres Chapel of Light 401 N Hayden Rd. Scottsdale on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 2 p.m. Visitation is scheduled at 1 p.m. preceding services. In lieu of flowers send contributions to favorite charity.
