Ralph PALMER, 81, died at his home near Osceola, on Tuesday, July 11, 1978. Funeral services will be held from the Assembly of God Church in Osceola on Thursday, July 14, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Edward AUBUCHON of Osceola officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery [Osceola, Clarke County, Iowa].
Organist Helen WILLIAMS accompanied Orville (sic) A. BLACK as he sang Until Then and Abide With Me. Casket bearers were Arthur HALL, Robert REES, Ernest HARGER, Lester WOODS, John ASMUS, and Jim ASMUS. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola, Iowa.
Ralph PALMER was born November 5, 1896, in Decatur County, Iowa, son of Samuel O. PALMER and Bertha (JONES) PALMER. He attended schools in Clarke County and on February 23, 1919, was married to Esther FOLAND in Decatur County. Three children were born to this union.
He was a veteran of World War I and was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Esther of Osceola; son, Cleo B. PALMER and wife Glida of Chariton; son, Carl L. PALMER and wife, Bette of Port Byron, Illinois; son, Cecil Dean PALMER and wife, Marilyn of Stockton, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harry and Lowell. Ralph will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
