EDITH CHAPMAN was born Dec. 25, 1856, in Schuyler County, Illinois. She was converted and joined the Presbyterian Church at the age of 18 at Brooklyn, Ill., and remained in full fellowship until 1887 and then joined the M.E. Church, Plymouth, Ill., where her membership remained until death. On Sept. 4, 1878, she was married to THOMAS B. ABERCROMBIE in Brooklyn, Ill.

Five children were born to them -- two boys and three girls. Four are still living, and were present at the bedside of their mother when she passed away. One girl died at the age of 9 months. She, with her husband and family moved to Weldon in 1895. She had been afflicted 2 years and 2 months and died Feb. 26, 1904, aged 47 years and 2 months. She was well prepared to make the change of this world for the better world.

The funeral was held in the M.E. Church in Weldon, the Pastor, Rev. W.H. Doyle, having charge, assisted by Rev. G.E. Mitchell, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m., after which the remains were taken to their family cemetery in Brooklyn, Ill., where the services will be concluded. MR. T.B. ABERCROMBIE and MANSEL, one of the boys, accompanied the remains.
