Vida Ellen McDaniel Buffalow, 85, Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Saturday, August 26, 1995, at the Jefferson Care Center, Lee's Summitt. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Friends may call from 12 noon until service time on Tuesday at the Royer Chapel. Please wear bright colors; Vida loved them. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Center Place Restoration School in Independence, MO.

Mrs. Buffalow was born near Davis City, IA, and had lived in Independence, Holden, and Bates City, MO. She was a machinist at the Lake City Army Arsenal during World War II, and at the Brunson Instrument Company. She also worked at The Grill in Independence. She was a member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the Grain Valley Restoration Branch. She wrote stories for children, poetry, hymns, and taught church school classes for all ages. She shared her flower garden with all and was an accomplished dressmaker. Her husband, John E. Buffalow preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors include three daughters, Angela M. Iles, Independence, MO, Fairy R. Hayward, Independence, Florene D. Schwesen, Xenia, OH; one stepson, John Earl Buffalow, Rosemount, MN; two sisters, Florence Simpson, Davis City, IA; Cecile Propst, Independence, MO; one brother, Franklin McDaniel, Davis City, IA; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
