During Closing Days of the Old Year.

Lucinda Pray.

Lucinda Pruit Pray was born at Jeffersonville, Indiana, Aug. 14, 1847, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. P. Woodard, at Lamoni, Iowa, Dec. 24, 1918, being 70 years, 4 months and 10 days old.

She was married to Hezakiah Pray at Jeffersonville, Ind., in 1865, and moved with her husband to Decatur county, Iowa, in 1875, where she remained until her death. She was converted when 18 years old and united with the Christian church and later she united with the M. E. church, being a member at Lamoni, where she remained a sincere christian until death.

She leaves to mourn her departure three children: Mrs. A. P. Woodard, of Lamoni, Iowa; Martin Pray, of Des Moines, Iowa; and R. W. Pray, of Mt. Ayr, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, besides a host of friends, her husband having preceded her a number of years ago.

The body was brought to Grand River Thursday morning and was tenderly laid beside her husband in the Young cemetery. On account of the sickness of so many of the relatives just a short service was held at the grave, conducted by Rev. E. C. Vanderpool, after which a memorial service will be held some time in the near future.
