Robert Taft Woodard, 88, of Decatur, died of a heart ailment Wednesday [December 30, 1998] at Des Moines General Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, with burial at Decatur Cemetery.
Mr. Woodard was born in Decatur and lived in the area most of his life, except from 1996 to 1997, when he lived in Des Moines. He was a retired farmer and a member of Decatur Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Leonard, Glenn and Richard, all of Des Moines, and Robert N. of Omaha; a sister, Grace WOODS of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-granchild.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the family greeting friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
