Mrs. J. S. Day.

___________

America Zinn was born near Wilksville, Jackson county, Ohio, October 3, 1846, and departed this life May 19, 1916, at her home in Decatur, Iowa, aged 69 years, 5 months and 16 days.

She moved with her parents to Kansas about 1861 where she was married in the same year to T. M. Stanley. Soon after their marriage she moved with her husband to Decatur county, Iowa, where she has lived ever since. Six children were born to this union, two of whom died in later years. The husband and father passed from this life in March, 1898.

In 1904 Mrs. Stanley was again married, this time to J. S. Day, of Decatur, who died in 1911 at Los Angeles, California, where he had gone for his health.

Mrs. Day is survived by one son, Lawson Stanley of Springfield, Mo., and three daughters, Mrs. Carrie Myers of Van Wert, Mrs. Alpha Woodard of Decatur, and Mrs. Stella Phipps of Lamoni. Her departure is also mourmed by a sister, Mrs W. B. Logan of Corydon, thirteen grandchilden and four great-grandchildren.

She was united with the Methodist church at an early age and has lived a consistent christian life ever since. Her one aim in view was to know her Savior's plan of life and to live accordingly. As a result she had become an excellent Bible student and her life radiated kindness and good will toward all.

The funeral services which were largely attended, were conducted from her home in Decatur last Sunday afternoon. Rev. Raoul R. Moser of Leon conducted the same. The burial took place in the Decatur cemetery where her body awaits the resurrection of the just.
