Obituary ~ Jimmie Woodrow "Jim or Chuck" Baughman
March 30, 1944 ~ January 17, 2017

Jimmie Woodrow Baughman, also known as Jim and Chuck, age 72, of Leon, Iowa, the son of Earl Woodrow “Squeak” and Lyda Elizabeth “Betty” (Adair) Baughman, was born March 30, 1944, in Decatur County, Iowa. He died at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

Jimmie grew up in the Woodland, Iowa area. He started in country school and then attended Leon High School. He worked in auto bodywork and then did construction work, building the Crestline Window factory in Leon, Iowa. Upon its completion he began working at Crestline until their closing 23 years later. Jimmie also was a co-owner and operator of Jim’s Place in Leon.

He was married to Julia Stell Toney. They were blessed with two sons, Theron and Jason. Jimmie love reading and was a terrific grandfather, who loved to take the grandkids fishing.

Preceding him in death were his dad; three siblings, Jerry Baughman and infants, Elizabeth Louise and Shirley May Baughman; and infant granddaughter, Alexis Baughman.

Survivors include his sons, Theron Baughman and Jason Baughman and wife, Jennifer, all of Leon, Iowa; grandchildren, Cole, Trenton, Alysea, Caitlyn, and Ian; great grandchildren, Aubrie, Aiden, and Karter; his mother, Betty Baughman of Leon; siblings, Doris & Jerry Laswell of Aurora, Missouri, John & Connie Baughman of Kansas City, Missouri, Barb Ricketts of Kansas City, Missouri, Lucy & Dale Dooley of Liberty, Missouri, and Melody & Kenny Dale of Leon; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were through the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home of Leon and Lamoni, Iowa.
