Obituary ~ Maurice “Red/Tom” Barlean
December 21, 1924 ~ December 18, 2014

Bethany, MO: Maurice “Red/Tom” Barlean, 89, Bethany, MO (formerly of Humeston & Garden Grove, IA) passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Crestview Home. He was born December 21, 1924 in Decatur County, IA and would have been 90 in 2 days.

Tom worked in road construction and farming until retiring in 1991. He proudly served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Delia (Decker) Barlean; his wives, Cordlia “Corky” (Hoover) Barlean and Gwen (Tucker) Barlean; and sister, Lois (Barlean) Vann of California.

Survivors include his children, Daniel L. Barlean and Brenda E. (Larry) Burton both of Bethany, MO.

Graveside Service and burial will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Leon Cemetery, Leon, IA under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. There is no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the VFW Post #2176 and/or American Legion Post #216 in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424.
