Obituary ~ Carolyn "Katie" (Howard) Jordan
January 13, 1930 ~ July 20, 2016

Carolyn Howard Jordan, daughter of Frank & Margaret (Tappan) Howard, was born January 13, 1930 in Chicago, IL.

Katie, as she was known to all as, graduated from high school, and attended college, before becoming a mother to Michael, Rex, Terri, Mark, and Denise with her first husband.

Katie later married her true love, Cyrus Jordan. They lived in various communities all over the country as they raised their children. Katie came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior and her life was forever changed into a witness for Him. Katie had a passion for telling others about Jesus; praying continuously for everyone; and believing by faith when God spoke to her. She led her family to Christ and even to the end of her days on earth, she would witness and preach Jesus to all she met. Katie was bold in her witnessing and never compromised her faith. Wherever she lived she was recognized as a Proverbs 31 wife and astounding artist.

When Cyrus Jordan passed away July 18th 2013, Katie moved to Iowa to live with her only living daughter Terri and her husband Dennis Goodman. There Terri was blessed to be able to care for the woman who had cared for so many throughout the years. Katie remained in her care until Hospice and nurses at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa took over on July 19th and at 4:54 p.m. on July 20, 2016, she entered into the eternal and magnificent presence of her Lord & Savior with her daughter and her granddaughter by her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother "Bud"; husband Cyrus; children Mike Mann and Denise Marie Mann.

Those left to remember and share who Katie is includes her children Rex Jordan, Terri Goodman, and Mark Jordan; grandchildren Jennifer H. Cole, Christopher Mann, Charley Mann, TJ Mann, Mark Mann, Eric Jordan, Viktor Jordan, Nikki Correll, and Laura Tomlinson; great grandchildren Brooklyn, Madison, Jacoby, Kiera, Bentley, Zachary, Avery, Easton, Aurora, Scarlett, Walker, Madison, Allyson, Nathan, Lincoln, MarLeigh Rhae; other relatives and friends.

Katie made sure of two decisions when she passed: her body be donated to Des Moines University for study & research and her soul be forever in the presence of the One she loved and lived for, Jesus Christ.
