July 10, 1897 ~ July 12, 1982

Lillie May Forsythe, daughter of John Wesley and Evy Jane Hatfield McKinney, was born July 10, 1897 near Bible Grove, Mo., and died July 12, 1982 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa, age 85 years and 2 days.

Lillie grew up and attended school at Moulton, Iowa. She was married to Thomas Bennett Forsythe March 7, 1914 at Moulton. Five children were born to this union. They moved to Leon, Iowa and made their home for 48 years, the past four years, she made her home at the Leon Care Center.

Lille accepted Christ as her Savior in the spring of 1982 and considered the Leon Calvary Baptist Church as her church home.

Preceding her in death were parents; sister, Rosetta Paris; 2 brothers: Oscar and Roscoe McKinney; son, William "Red" Forsythe; and husband, Tom, in 1977.

Survivors include 3 daughters: Georgia Still, Nina Rumley and Katherine Smith and husband, Floyd, all of Leon; son, Kenneth, St. Joe, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 4 step-granddaughters; 11 step-great grandchildren; 1 step-great, great grandchild; sister Marjorie Steele, Council Bluffs, Iowa; nieces, nephews and friends.

[Interment was made at Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.]
