Carolyn Maxine Fullerton, daughter of Max Brown Rhodes and Margaret LaJune (Akers) Rhodes was born March 10, 1948 in Leon, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 68 years of age at her home.

Carolyn received her education in Leon High School graduating in 1966. She was united in marriage to Carl Francis Fullerton on April 15, 1967 at Van Wert, Iowa and three children, Cindy, Ron and Margaret blessed this union.

Carolyn enjoyed her life on the farm and helped Carl in many ways. She also worked at Hardee's and the HyVee Deli in Osceola and most recently worked as a Home Health Aide. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, fixing up the farm, taking trips, camping and spending time with her family. She was a nurturer and great caregiver. She was a past member of the Osceola Eagles Lodge, Medora United Methodist Church Ladies Aide and was the Fremont Township Clerk in Clarke County.

Those relatives who preceded Carolyn in death were her parents; two step mothers; her husband, Carl; sisters, Shirley Jackson, Patty Bethards; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Cindy Matlage of Waverly, IA, son, Ron (Jill) Fullerton of Klemme, IA, daughter, Margaret (Roy) Clark of Osceola, IA, brother, Bill Rhodes of Osceola, IA, sister, Barb Rhodes of Altoona, IA, Grandchildren, Brandon Matlage, Raelynn Matlage, Alex Fullerton, Joanna Fullerton, Nicole Clark, Zac Clark, step-grandchildren, Courtney (Jon) Dayton, Derek (Erika) McGarry, Brandon McGarry, Aryn (Jarod) Tripp; 7 step great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to HCI Care Services of Osceola.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., November 12, 2016, at Kale Funeral Home, Osceola, Iowa. Interment will be made at Fremont Cemetery.
