ABBY JANE ELSTON, daughter of MR. and MRS.
GEORGE ELSTON, was born July
8, l863, at Bradford, Ill. She came to Davis
City, Iowa, with her
parents in l87l, and has resided here since
that date. She died March
l4, l9l5, at the age of 5l years, 8 months
and 6 days.

She was married October 27, l88l to DOUGLAS
DAVIS, who with four
children, ROY DAVIS, DAISY MAXWELL, STELLA
CRAIG and FRANK DAVIS were
with her at the time of her death. Four
children have preceded her. Of
her immediate family, two brothers, GEORGE
and SIDNEY ELSTON, of this
place remain.

Since the death of her daughter, GERTIE, in
l908, she has been mother to
her grandson, ARLO ALLAN. There are three
other granchildren.

Her death followed an illness of long
duration during which time every
possible effort was made to restore her to
health. A host of relatives
and friends mourn the loss of a loving wife,
a kind neighbor, and a
loyal Christian.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Harrison
Hamilton at the Union Church,
Monday afternoon after which burial services
were held at the Davis City
Cemetery.
