WILL LEDGERWOOD, brother of JOHN LEDGERWOOD,
of Osceola, formerly of
Leon, and himself a former resident of this
city, met death on December
l9th, in a blizzard that swept over the
mountains in California on
December l9th. JOHN LEDGERWOOD received word
of the sad death a few
days ago.

WILL LEDGERWOOD resided on a ranch about
three miles from a ranch
occupied by a brother. It seems that he had
started down the mountain
to the ranch of his brother when he was
overtaken by the blizzard. He
probably lost his way and was overcome by the
storm and cold. Down at
the home of his brother they had concluded
that they would go up to the
WILL LEDGERWOOD ranch as soon as the storm
abated. After the storm was
over a party did so, but they did not find
him at home. They then began
an investigation and found the body in the
snow. His many old friends
in Leon and Decatur County will be greatly
shocked and grieved to learn
of his tragic death.

He was for many years traveling
representative for the Pingree & Smith
Shoe Manufacturing Company, of Detroit,
Mich., and was well known all
over the territory in the middle western
states. Leon was one of the
towns in his territory. He was popular with
all who knew him, and
especially so in Leon and Decatur County.
The bereaved relatives have
the sympathy of all.
