Obituary ~ Lyda Belle Epperly
January 21, 1884 ~ March 18, 1971

LYDA BELLE EPPERLY, daughter of THOMAS G. EPPERLY and ALMYRA ROCK EPPERLY, was born January 21, 1884 in Leon, Iowa and spent her life in Decatur County, and died at her home on March 18, 1971.

LYDA has been a member of the Leon Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers, WILLIAM, JOHN, EARL, RAYMOND, HARRY and FRED and one sister, MAE.

LYDA devoted her life to the teaching profession, having started her career in the Decatur County rural schools in 1902 and in the Leon schools in 1908 retiring in 1955.

Surviving are one brother, EDGAR and wife, LEVERN; four nephews, EDGAR V., LESTER, JAMES and LESLIE EPPERLY; two nieces WILMA TEW, and FREDA JOHNSON; other relatives and friends.
