Leslie Cox

Leslie Claude Cox, 84, formerly of What Cheer and Fairfield died at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 26, 1987, at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon.

He was born March 22, 1903, in Freeport, Ill., to John A. and Pearl Hill Cox. He was a member of Church of Christ in Leon and had been a boiler room operator at Clay Products in What Cheer.

He is survived by a stepson, Nathan Hanks of Lineville; a brother, William ("Walter" has been handwritten over the top) of Ottumwa; and three sisters, Gertrude Stanley of Williams, Ore., Ethel Scott of Waterloo and Helen Stein of Hemit, Calif.

The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Cross at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home, the Rev. Raymond Lyons officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Among the survivors of Leslie Cox of Leon, who died Dec. 26, is a brother, Walter Cox of Ottumwa. The brother's first name was incorrect in a Monday death notice.
