Michael Herman Jass, son of William Harms Jass and Doris Hazel (Saathoff) Jass was born July 1, 1951 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Michael passed from this life, Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa, at the age of 63.

Michael graduated from Alden High School and then graduated from Northwest Missouri State University.

Michael was a farmer, a family man and an avid Iowa State Cyclones Fan. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, boating, camping, reading the paper front to back, and traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Michael was a resident of Osceola, Iowa at the time of his passing.

Those relatives who preceded Michael in death were his parents, William and Doris Jass; brother, Chris Jass; niece, Amy Jass; and uncle, Harm Jass.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Stacy (Steve) Henson of St. Charles, IA, Stephanie (Jeremy) Smith of Norwalk, IA; son, Brandon (Josh) Jazz of Waukee, IA; also surviving is the children's mother, Lee Jass of Garden Grove, IA; Grandchildren, Sampson Henson, Shay Henson, Sloan Henson, Sutton Henson, future granddaughter, Skylee Smith, his children's mother, Lee Jass of Garden Grove, Iowa; brother, John (Pam) Jass of Van Wert, Iowa; sister, Jane (Tom) Dunning of Alden, Iowa; brother, David (Darcie) Jass of Alden, Iowa; sister-in-law, Val Mahoney of Winona, MN; uncle, Victor Jass; aunts, Ann Jass and Margaret Block. as well as other relatives and many friends.

A casual Celebration of Life Service was held at 12:00 p.m., April 4, 2015, at the familyt home in Garden Grove, Iowa, with a luncheon to follow. Cremation will follow the memorial and is under the direction of Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.
