Vera Maxine Klemme, daughter of James Milton Mart and Mary Edith (Marshall) Mart was born June 26, 1920 in Garden Grove, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola at 93 years of age.

Vera received her education in the LeRoy and Weldon Schools. She was united in marriage to Paul Edward McWilliams on August 20, 1936. Vera and Hoyt owned and operated the Klemme Motel and Cafe in Osceola and then she also worked at Robinsons for several years.

Vera was raised by her grandmother, Julia Marshall after her mother, Mary passed away when Vera was six months old. She was the last living member on both sides of the family in her generation. She played the piano and taught Sunday School at the Weldon Christian Church and later attended the First Christian Church in Osceola and most recently enjoyed her time at the Broadhorn Community Church . She enjoyed golfing, quilting, cooking, her Facebook and her cats. However, her greatest joys came from her large family.

Those relatives who preceded Vera in death were her parents; 1st husband, Paul in 1955; 2nd husband, Hoyt in 1990; brothers, Murray (Virginia) Mart, Leland (Mary) Mart; stepson, Bill Klemme; grandparents Owen and Julia Marshall.

Vera's last days were made much more enjoyable because she was able to spend time with her granddaughter, great- granddaughter and great-great granddaughter whom she loved very much.

Memorials may be directed to Broadhorn Community Church or Clarke County Animal Shelter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 AM February 22, 2015 at Kale Funeral Home, Osceola, IA. Interment was made at Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola, IA.
