ANITA RUTH, daughter of THOMAS MINTON, and MARY JANE GRAY QUICK, was born April 14, 1916 near Pleasanton, Iowa, and died Dec. 24, 1983 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa, age 67 years, 8 months, and 12 days.

On February 5, 1934 she was united in marriage to MARDIS WOODROW GARTON in Leon, Iowa. They made their home in Leon most of their married life. To this union one daughter was born, LINDA LEE.

She was a kind, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother. She liked being around friends and loved ones. Her favorite pastime was fishing. She cherished going to church and her many friends there.

Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; and 2 sisters; one in infancy and the other, ALBERTA DOWNEY. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, LINDA and GARRY FRY; grandson and wife, RANDY SHARON FRY; great granddaughter, CASSANDRA KAY FRY, all of Van Wert, Iowa; sister, OLLIE JOHNSON of Washington state; 2 nieces: PAT BENNETT, Leon, and MARY JANE DELZELL of Oregon; other relatives and friends.

[Interment was made at Leon Cemetery.]
