January 27, 1994Jannie Black, 101, of Hillside convalescent Center, 233 University Ave., died of a heart ailment there tuesday. Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Hamilton's funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Black was born in Decatur County [the daugher of Harrison Henry and Hannah (Gibbens) Young] and lived in Des Moines 50 years, coming from Creston. She retired as a presser at Cascade Dry Cleaning and was a member of Berean Assembly of God.
Surviving are two daughters, Arlena Phillips and Orba Northway, both of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great grandchild.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
