______________
Archie, the little two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis [Clara Z.] Hamilton, of Eden township, was seriously injured last Sunday while visiting at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Gammon, who live a few miles south of Leon. Just how he was injured is unknown, as he was found about 12:30 in a horse lot crying and was carried to the house and cared for. It is thought that one of the horses in the lot may have stepped on the little fellow, but this can not be told for certain.
On Monday his condition was much worse and he was brought to Leon and taken to the Leon hospital and a physician called, and it was found necessary to operate upon him as there was a perforation or rupture of the small intestines and he was in a very serious condition. The operation was successfully performed and the little sufferer rallied from the operation in fine shape, but his condition is considered very critical with not much hope for his recovery.
