Obituary ~ Sara Etta (Acre) Gilreath
October 09, 1881 ~ December 22, 1957

Sara Etta Acre was born October 9, 1881, at Kellerton, Iowa and at an early age became a member of the Methodist Church. She passed away after a period of illness at the Wagner Community Hospital, December 22, 1957 at the age of 76.

She was united in marriage to James Weaver Gilreath, February 20, 1902 at Decatur County, Iowa. They moved to South Dakota in 1905 where she resided up to the time of her death.

To this union were born eight children: Willard of Wagner, SD; Dayton of Artesian, SD; Russell of Minneapolis, MN; Helen Miller of Ravinia, SD; Josephine Bromley of Buchanan, MI; Muriel Conner of Armour, SD.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Homer and a daughter Alice.

Mrs. Gilreath leaves to mourn other than her six children: two brothers, Guy of Dodge City, KS; and Robert of Sharon Springs, KS. Also three sisters, Annie Dickson of Mt. Vernon, SD; Grace Squire of Bucklin, Ks and Tina Dresser of Corsicana, TX, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Reverend Wegner conducted funeral services at the Methodist church at Wagner. Internment was made at Lakeview Cemetery at Lake Andes, SD. Pallbears were W.E. Kirkpatrick, Jack Morrow, Otto Blankenhaben, Dan Morrow, Tommy Smith and Henry Engelland.
