Obituary ~ William Franklin Boyd
May 04, 1854 ~ March 02, 1929

William Franklin Boyd was born in Putnam County, Indiana, May 4, 1854, and died March 2, 1919, Leon, Iowa.

William was the son of John and Lucy Ann Boyd. He married Rebecca Elizabeth Gary on Nov 8, 1874 and to this union was born six children. Laura Porter of Oklahoma, Elmer Boyd of Farmington,Iowa, Rosa Graham of Moreland, Oklahoma, Ella Morton of Dike, Kansas, Ora Holland of Moreland, Oklahoma, Claude Boyd of Leon, Iowa, deceased one brother, Peter Boyd of Saline, Mo.

He was a member of the Christian church for 55 years. He leaves to mourn his departure his loving wife and children, fifteen grandchildren and a host of relatives and frinds.

When he was a young man he taught singing and several of his old-time pupils attended his funeral and they requested that the good work he did in this line be mentioned at in his memorial.

The funeral service was held at the Christian church in Leon on Lednesday March 6th and burial was in the Leon cemetery.
