RITES FOR GALE MCCLUREE TODAY

Funeral services for ELVIN GALE MCCLURE, 51, who died in a Des Moines hospital Tuesday morning, will be held from the Stewart Funeral Home in Leon today at 2 p. m. with burial in the Leon Cemetery.

GALE died as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident in Creston the night of October 19. He never regained consciousness from the time of the accident. He was taken to Creston hospital and later transferred to a Des Moines hospital.

He was the former sheriff of Decatur County where he served several terms, and was recently named probation officer for the Third Judicial District. While living in Leon, he was active in Masonic work, Lions Club, was interested in Boy Scout work, the Leon Golf and Country Club and took part in all worthwhile projects.

He is survived by his wife [Maxine], two children [Karlos and Sherry], four grandchildren and five brothers.

The youth that hit the police car in which MCCLURE was riding, RODNEY WILLIAMSON, 17, of Creston, is being held in jail at Creston in lieu of $1,000 bond. He was charged with driving while his license was suspends. Tuesday, he was charged with robbery of another youth in October and will possibly now have other charges placed against him.
