Obituary ~ Grace Delphine (Roberts) Chastain
September 26, 1899 ~ May 12, 1970

GRACE DELPHINE CHASTAIN was born September 26, 1899 in Franklin Township, Decatur County, the daughter of THOMAS RICHARD and LAURA AGNES ROBERTS. She died May 12, 1970. Funeral services were held in El Monte, Calif. burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Whitier, Calif.

Her days from childhood to womanhood were she spent in Decatur with her seven brothers and sisters.

October 20, 1931, she was united in marriage to PAUL CHASTIAN of Leon. They made their home in Leon for nine years and one daughter was born to them. In 1940, they moved to Missouri and Kansas. In 1943, they moved to El Monte where she raised for 27 years until her death.

She was a lover of nature, particularly flowers. She sang in the Decatur Methodist Church choir as a girl. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 20 years.

She is survived by her husband PAUL; daughter, JANICE LUND; son-in-law, TOR LUND; two granddaughters, LAURI and LISA LUND, all of Whittier, Calif.; five brothers and sisters, namely; RALPH ROBERTS, Cheyeene, Wyo.; CLARENCE ROBERTS, Des Moines; BERNICE HOCKERNSMITH, Temple City, Calif.; MILDRED ALLEY, Rosemead, Calif.; and RUTH JOHNSON, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; 17 nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by one sister, BLANCHE TULLIS, and one brother, FRANK ROBERTS.
