Carl Eugene Crees, son of Michael Samuel and Ruth Lavern (Ellars) Crees, was born on the family farm in Decatur County, Iowa on May 10, 1939. On June 10, 1961 he married Carol Birchard at the Methodist church in Hornick, Iowa. Carl passed away in the Decatur County Hospital on February 16, 2013 at the age of 73.

Preceding him in death were his parents; infant brother, Clarence; brother, Willis; sister, Patricia, and brothers-in-law, Ralph Jones and Duane Poore.

[Interment was made at Oak Hill Cemetery, Grand River, Iowa.]
