WILLIAM B. FITCH, son of J.H. and M.A. FITCH,
was born July 3, l873, in
Chickasaw County, Iowa, died Sept. l5, l895,
at his home three and a
half miles east of Leon, after an illness of
several weeks.

The deceased moved to Decatur County with his
parents in l888. He was
married to MINNIE EVANS in Leon on June 27,
l894. To their short and
happy union was born a little daughter on May
l4, l895, who with his
wife is left to mourn his loss.

He united with the Leon Baptist Church in
l89l, and was a faithful and
consistent member from that time until his
death. The funeral services
were held at the home on Tuesday morning,
conducted by Rev. Thos. Dyall,
Pastor of the Leon Baptist Church, assisted
by Revs. Edwards and Daily,
former Pastors of the Leon Church, and Rev.
Geo. M. Hughes, Pastor of
the Methodist Church. The funeral cortege
which followed his remains to
their last resting place in the Leon
Cemetery, was a very large one, as
the departed one enjoyed the friendship and
esteem of a large circle of
friends and acquaintances.

The bereaved wife and parents have the
deepest sympathy of this
community in their affliction.
