MRS. ED WILLIS took her daughter, between
three and four years old, to
visit with her parents, MR. and MRS. E.
PERCELL, near Andover, last
Friday. While the child was out in the yard
playing, it stepped on a
rattle snake, which in return bit the child
on the left foot three
times. The child was insensible in ten
minutes and remained in this
condition until Dr. Brooks, of Andover, was
called and in administering
stimulants brought the child to its right
mind and it said, "If papa had
been here he would have killed that snake and
then it wouldn't bite
me." These were the last words of the child
and in three hours after
the event, it was claimed by death. The
father was sent for and arrived
just as the child was breathing the last.

The funeral took place Saturday at the home
and intement made in the
cemetery at Andover.
