DEATH NOTICE:

IRWIN, Lorine Warrick, 94, of Tucson, Arizona, died on Monday , January 23, 2012 at Handmaker in Tucson, Arizona. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Arizona. Interment will be at a later date in the Grand River Cemetery, Grand River, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church of Tucson, Arizona or charity of choice.

LORINE WARRICK IRWIN ... Lorine Irwin passed away on January 23, 2012 at Handmaker in Tucson, Arizona at age 94. She was born on June 21, 1917 to Arthur and Bonnie [Hyatt] DeVries and grew up on a farm near Kellerton, Iowa.

After high school she began teaching at a local rural school. She married Carl (Ole) Warrick in 1937 and lived on several farms in southern Iowa raising purebred Hereford Cattle and Quarter Horses. Later she returned to teaching and earned her teaching certificate as well as a BS in education from Drake University and a MS in Library Science from Kansas State Teachers College. After 46 years together, her husband passed away in 1983 and she moved to Tucson, to be closer to her two sons.

In 1994 she married John Irwin and they spent their next years traveling throughout the states as well as several foreign trips until John passed in 1997. She remained active in her church and other community charitable activities.

Lorine is survived by Dwayne and Shirley Warrick of Prescott, Arizona, Arthur and Shan Warrick of Tucson, Arizona, six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
