WHITE, Mary Ida, 84, of Garden Grove, Iowa,died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Iowa with Pastor Chuck DeVos officiating. Interment was held in the Murray Cemetery, Murray, Iowa.

MARY IDA WHITE ... Mary Ida White, daughter of Milo Clifton Smith and Ida Pearl [Driver] Smith, was born March 29, 1927 in rural Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life January 25, 2012 at Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa at 84 years of age.

Mary attended Clarke County rural schools. She married Albert Galen white on December 17, 1943 in Bethany, Missouri, and five children, Carol, Ronald, Vicki, Roger and Randal, blessed this union. Mary and Albert lived in Des Moines for seven years before moving back to Clarke County to farm and later to Cainsville, Missouri. They had spent the last 39 years in garden Grove, Iowa.

Mary sewed at Snowdons for 10 years and was a cook at the meal sites in Leon and Garden Grove for many years. She was a Scout Leader, worked at the Garden Grove Library two different times and helped at the City Hall. She attended the United Methodist Church in Garden Grove and the Baptist Church in Cainsville. Mary enjoyed cooking, watching and feeding the birds, gardening, reading, puzzles and spending time with the grand kids.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2001; daughter-in-law, Connie J. White; brothers Russell and Victor Smith; sisters, Florence and Shirley Smith; brothers-in-law, Lyle Pfander, Milton Reynolds, Clyde Bowlsby, Raymond White, Ernest White, Elmer White, Clifford White, Milford White, Don White, Charles Brown; sisters-in-law, Lola Smith, Dorothy Smith, Charlotte Smith, Ardel Smith, Ina White, Mary White, Viola brown; grandsons, Kary Kline, Kevin Kline and Jeromy White.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory: children, Carol (Darrel) Stearns of Jewell, Ronald White of Decatur City, Vicki (Jerry) Luper of Cainsville, MO, Roger white (Marcy Roberts) of Garden Grove, Randy (Heather) White of Osceola; grandchildren, Kelly (Ricky) Castro of San Juan Puerto Rico, Kendal (Deb) Kline of Nevada, Darren (Amber) Stearns of Newhall, Jerid (Dee Dee) White of Leon, Jeromiah (Kelly) White of Chariton, Artie Luper of Tindall, MO, Annie Luper of Milan, MO, Keatyn White and Jedidiah White of Osceola; 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great granddaughters; sisters, Virginia Pfander of Colorado Springs, CO, Dorothy Bowlsby of Osceola, Marjorie Reynolds of Osceola, Twyla (Francis) Mathis of New Providence, Lucy (Danny) Stubbs of Corydon; brothers, Paul Smith of Kellerton, John Smith of Osceola, William Smith of Woodburn, Donald Smith of Leon, Kenneth (Beverly) Smith of Woodburn; sisters-in-law, Beverly Smith of Osceola, Roberta White of Osceola, Amy White of Altoona, Nida White of Des Moines; brother-in-law, Jerald (Jeanne) White of Norwalk; as well as other relatives and many friends.
