ROUSH, Luella, 87, of Leon, Iowa, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Westview Acres in Leon. Memorial services are pending through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa.

ROUSH, Luella, 87, of Leon, Iowa, died on Sunday November 27, 201 at Westview Acres in Leon. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Leon Bible Church in Leon, with Pastor Clegguart Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Iowa. Arrangements are through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Leon, Iowa.

LUELLA ROUSH ... Luella Rachel Roush, age 87 of Leon, Iowa, daughter of Lindsey Willis Roush and Rosa May [Reed] Roush, was born March 19, 1924 in Decatur Iowa and died November 27, 2011 at Westview Acres in Leon.

Luella graduated from Leon High School in 1942. She then attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa, graduating in 1944. Luella worked for the Des Moines Ordinance Plant during World War II for three years. She then worked for the State of Iowa in IPERS for 40 1/2 years. Luella retired in 1986 and moved to Leon in 1990.

Luella was a member of the Leon Bible Church. She loved holidays, especially Christmas. Luella took good care of her nieces and nephews, arriving at the Porter and Graham families, when the children were little, with a carload of gifts and lots of delicious homemade food. She made the holidays special for them.

Besides cooking Luella enjoyed traveling with her friends in Des Moines. She loved all her cats.

Preceding Luella in death were her parents; nephew Michael Graham; and brother-in-law Richard Graham.

She is survived by two sisters, Alta Graham of Davis City, Iowa and Bernice Porter of Lamoni, Iowa; brother-in-law Charles Porter of Leon; two nieces, Rhonda Lane and husband Larry of Leon and Kathy Cowden and husband Lonnie of Grand River, Iowa; two nephews, Danny Graham and wife Vicki of Davis City and Greg Porter and wife Lisa of Leon; great nieces: Jennie Frank, Miranda Lane-Marvin and husband Brent, Jaycee Rumley, Josie Rumley, and Bailey Cowden; great nephews: Mike Graham, Lance Porter, Ethan Porter, Gideon Porter, Chris Lane and wife Michaela, Kip Cowden, Blake Cowden, Kason Cowden, and Kaige Cowden; great-great nieces and nephews: Addy, Maggie, Jessa, Avery, Lyndin, Aidyn, Arianna, and Adelynne; and other relatives and friends.
