PALMER, Faye Hayden, 83, died August 23, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Indianola, Iowa. Funeral services were held August 26, at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon with pastor John Watson officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery, Chariton, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.

FAYE PALMER ... Alma Faye Hayden Palmer passed away August 23, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Indianola, Iowa at the age of 83 years. Faye was born January 7, 1923 to Teddy and Regina Hayden in East Peru, Iowa.

She attended School in Madison County, Iowa. On December 9, 1943 she married Oscar Perley Palmer. Together they raised five children on a farm in northwest Lucas County, Iowa. Besides helping with farm chores, Faye worked outside the home at the hospital in Chariton for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Perley; her parents, Teddy and Regina Hayden; a sister, Florence Morrison; a granddaughter; and a great grandson.

Faye is survived by daughters Linda Clever, Jan Shadden and husband Jim, and Judy Trembly and husband Ray, all of Humeston, Iowa; son George Palmer and wife Barbara of Indianola; and son Ed Palmer and wife Janet of Chariton, Iowa; sister Beulah Harrison of Murray, Iowa, sister Anna Grace Faux of Leon, Iowa; brother Keith Hayden and sister Noreen Zimmerman and husband Scott of Burley, Idaho; sister Helen Salisbury and husband Willis of Norwalk, Iowa, sister Marjorie Gallentine and husband John of Carlisle, Iowa, and brother Merrill Hayden and wife Corleen of St. Charles, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
