PAUL ISAAC SIMMERMAN, 61, died Wednesday, December 22. Funeral services
were held from the Slade Funeral Home in Leon on Sunday, December 26, with
Pastors Brad Waller and Dorsey Derrick conducting the 2 p.m. rites.
Interment was in Van Wert Cemetery.

PAUL ISAAC SIMMERMAN was born September 30, 1915, son of WILLIAM SIMMERMAN
and LUCY MCMURTREY SIMMERMAN. He attended schools in Decatur County and
graduated from Weldon High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during
World War II.

On May 10, 1946, he was married to EVELYN IRENE RAMSEY in Troy, Kansas.
Three children were born to this union. He worked as a carpenter and
television repairman and also was a bus driver for the Weldon and Clarke
Community Schools for 21 years and was employed as custodian for the Weldon
school for the past 14 years.

He is survived by his wife, EVELYN of Weldon; daughter, SHEILA HAMILTON and
husband, LARRY of Leon; son, STEPHEN SIMMERMAN and wife, CHRISTINE of
Atlantic; daughter, SHERRY RICHARDS of Weldon; four grandchildren, SHAWN and
LONNIE HAMILTON, MICHELLE SIMMERMAN and TABBY JO RICHARDS; six sisters,
MAXINE RYAN and husband, BOB of Weldon; HELEN LAFOLETTE and husband, CARL of
Weldon; GWEN KELLEY and husband, DON of Weldon; PAULINE OILER and husband,
MERLYN of Weldon; LUCILLE BROWN and husband, HERMAN of Van Wert; and MARIE
LAMOREE of Van Wert; a sister-in-law, MAMIE SIMMERMAN of Weldon;
mother-in-law, FLOSSIE RAMSEY of Leon; many nieces and nephews and a
daughter by a previous marriage, DIXIE LEE JOHNSON.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, VIRGIL.
