DEATH NOTICE:

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Iowa September 15, 2010)

MILLER, JANICE ELAINE, 72, of Pueblo Colorado, died on Sunday, September 5, 2010. A Memorial Service was held at Wesley United Methodist Church on Friday, September 10, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. with arrangements through Montgomery Steward Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to US Bank in care of Janice Elaine Miller.

JANICE ELAINE MILLER ... Janice Elaine Miller was born 3/18/1938 at home in Mead, NE on a World War II bomb plant to Wilton (Bill) & Louise Miller and went to meet her Lord on September 5, 2020 after many years of ill health.

Janice attended country schools in Yutan, NE in 1st & 2nd grade and then attended Mead school until the 7th grade when her family moved to Van Wert, IA. Janice graduated from Van Wert High School in 1956 and then attended technical school in Omaha, NE. After graduation she worked in Des Moines, IA until 1960 when she moved to Denver, CO and married James Baughman on September 24, 1960. While living in Denver, Janice had two sons Robert & Dan. In 1969, the family moved to Leadville,CO. Janice was an active volunteer at the schools, historical society & library while living there. After her husband's death in 1984, Janice moved to the Wichita KS area for 3 years. In 1987, she moved back to CO and settled in Pueblo with her life partner Ike Leppke.

Janice worked for several years at the American Family Insurance company in Pueblo before retiring. She loved knitting, flower gardens, hummingbirds, playing cards, helping others and her family.

Upon retirement, Janice started doing volunteer work at the Wesley United Methodist Church, and was in charge of the bereavement dinners for several years, and started the Estate Sale Fund Raisers for the church and and continued in this role until her health prohibited it.

Janice has been in poor heath for several years, but no one has had a stronger spirit for survival. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Baughman and her parents. Janice is survived by sons, Robert (Bob), Dan and fiance Tracy Williams of Denver; life partner Ike Leppke of Pueblo; sisters Karen (Whitey) Wilson of Denver, CO & Mary (Bernard) Stogdill of Grand River, IA, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
