EVERETT MONROE BAGLEY ... Everett Monroe Bagley, 96, Princeton, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1986, at the Princeton Care Center.

Mr. Bagley was born Aug. 15, 1890, in Mercer County, a son of John Peter Bagley and Susan Amanda [Emmons] Bagley. He spent his life in Mercer County. He was married to Hazel Katherine Rogers on June 14, 1914. He taught school for several years. He was a member of the Christian Church.

He made sorghum molasses for his family and neighbors. His hobby was raising many kinds of fruit and grafting apple trees.

Survivors include Raymond and Ramona Bagley, Mercer; Wilda Houk, Pleasanton, Iowa; Bessie Bryant and Rosanna Akers, both of Leon, Iowa; Ruth McDowell, Albany, Ore.; and Katheryn Burghoffer, Ottumwa, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Neotha Bagley, Independence; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie; one son Everett Junior; one sister, Amy Luper, one brother, Arthur; grandchildren; Jesse Ray Houk and Mary Frances Bagley; and one great-granddaughter, Amanda Burton.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m., at the Slade & Duerr Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa, with the Rev. Norris Ramsey officiating. Burial was in the Hamilton Cemetery near Pleasanton.
