GENE SCOTT ... E. Gene Scott, age 85 of Davis City, Iowa, son of Jesse Loren and Mae [Long] Scott, was born February 16, 1922 in Kellerton, Iowa and died March 12, 2007 at Clearview Home in Mt. Ayr, Iowa.

Gene graduated from Kellerton High School at age 16. He married Ruby M. Ordway on January 28, 1942 in Bethany, Missouri. to this union five children were born: Lowell, Lyle, Sandra, Loren, and Judy. Gene and Ruby live don their farm east of Davis City for 62 years.

Gene was a hard-working farmer all his life, and he enjoyed raising Hereford cattle. He hunted, was a fur buyer, did woodworking, and showed Poland China hogs at the Iowa Sate Fair.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Perry Scott; and sister Rita Scott in childhood.

Gene is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruby Scott of their home in rural Davis City; 5 children: Lowell Scott and wife Stephanie of Urbandale, Iowa, Lyle Scott and wife Janice of Truro, Iowa, Sandra Scott of Auburn, Washington, Loren Scott of Davis City, and Judy King of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: Luci Crandall of Waukee, Iowa, Lansing Scott of Norwalk, Iowa, Jodi Scott of Urbandale, Eric Scott of Indianola, Iowa, Kelli [Scott] Honaker of Marion, Iowa, Cory Scott of Truro, Jeff Boyd of Missoula, Montana, Julie Uri of Osceola, Iowa, Andy Kindred of Columbia, Missouri, Jacob Scott of Milo, Iowa, John Scott of Davis City, Tammy Earll of Gilbert, Arizona, and Brian King of Gilbert; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; brother Stanley Scott of Mountain Home, Idaho; and sisters Lorna Brooks of Omaha and Helene Gilman of Des Moines; and other relatives and friends.
